ON FEBRUARY
February is the new January. What’s the point of being a philosopher if you can’t have a bit of creative license eh? So, this Philosopher-in-Residence is here to let you know that if any New Year’s Resolutions that have fallen by the wayside, good intentions turned into the usual busy lifestyle where nutritious eating and wellbeing comes a distant last, all is not lost.
The brain is weirdly wired to give up if something isn’t 100 per cent as envisaged. How many times have you descended into eating junk if you went a bit off-plan with a healthy eating regimen at the beginning of the week/month/year? Signed up to attend a gym or fitness classes and then sacked it off altogether after missing one or two classes?
The good news is, February is the new January. So if you find yourself more motivated to begin at the beginning of a week, month or year – February is perfect for you as a month and a week are starting at the same time this weekend!
Make a date with yourself to pick a couple of things to improve on:
Maybe sign up for our fun, friendly and inclusive fitness competition?
https://www.makemeaplan.com/events/
Cook yourself a good meal on at least 3 evenings a week?
Take a book out from the library and plan some digital detox time to read it?
Whatever you choose, review and reflect at the end of each week. If you didn’t achieve everything you set out – what percentage did you achieve? Make a new plan to work out what else you need to focus on, and go into the next week feeling good about yourself.
Next fortnight I’ll be writing On Self-Assessment. Be sure to make a note to self to drop by and read it. Please get in touch with any particular aspects of this subject you’d like me to write about.
In the meantime,
Happy Planning
